Clay is still new to me, so I tend to follow themes of interest from my profession as an architect as I learn and progress in what I make and how I make it. Repetition in building an idea multiple times is helpful in improving the quality and developing the concept. Whether it be a box, a bowl or a boat; a figure, a plate or a pinch-pot; learning how to build and glaze the pieces continues to be somewhat of a mystery; sometimes a happy accident; sometimes just an accident. It is the journey of making that I enjoy most.
