Totem Style Sculpture: Telling Stories Through Figurative Art
In this intensive 10 session workshop students will explore the process of designing and crafting a large totem-style sculpture. We will be focusing on figurative subjects such as plants, animals, and human figures. This class combines artistic expression with storytelling, inviting participants to create sculptures that convey a deeper connection to nature and the world around us.
Throughout the course, students will learn sculptural techniques that allow for both indoor and outdoor display. The process will include concept development, functional design principles, and translating personal stories into a visual form. Students will work to bring their unique narratives to life through their larger than life sculptures.
We will be hosting an exhibition of finished sculptures in the clayARTstudio814 Foyer with a public reception on Saturday, July 26th.
Instructor: Marsha Godoy Schindler
